Just got back from an amazing West Coast tour with BASSNECTAR and want to say thanks so much to everyone that came out early and caught my set! I’ve got a little down time right now before I hit it hard for the next month. Up next I’ll b playing a string of shows w/ STS9 and can’t wait to get started! Shortly after I’m swooping throught the SE for a handful of headlining shows where I’ll be sharing the night with HEYOKA. Also announced are a few dates with BLUETECH, some East Coast headlining dates, and a solid week of dates with PRETTY LIGHTS in April. It’s going to be a busy one and I hope to see everyone out there! Also I will have physical copies of Safe in the Steep Cliffs with me so stop through and grab one! I’ll be posting them for mail order soo through here so check back and soon enought they will be available.

Today’s the day. ‘Safe In The Steep Cliffs’ represents the tightest, most unique, most organic beats I’ve made in the last three years. This album has a new palette of sounds and samples from around the world, including more original recordings (guitar/violin/mandolin/banjo) and new guest artists including Japanese jazz musician Uyama Hiroto. It’s ominous and overgrown, dense and ethereal. And epic. Always epic.
Hope you enjoy the album. Looking forward to seeing many of you on the upcoming tour!

Emancipator – NEW ALBUM – Safe in the Steep Cliffs from Fill in the Blank on Vimeo.
Emancipator’s new album “Safe In The Steep Cliffs” blends new instrumentation and organic samples with the signature Emancipator style of clean production, silky melodies and addictive drums. Dense layers of choirs, horns, American folk instruments such as the banjo and mandolin, violin and some distinct Asian influences make for a playful but refined album built out of intricate tracks listeners can enjoy on as many levels as they want. Dance to it, chill out to it, immerse your mind in it:
Excited to announce that my second album “safe in the steep cliffs” will be out January 19th 2010.
I will have alot more to say about it very very soon but in the meantime please enjoy this complimentary track entitled “nevergreen”
